Cambridge: You’ll need more than a day to take in all the sights of the famous University City, whether it’s the King’s College Chapel, the Bridge of Sighs, Grantchester, touring the back of the colleges in a punt on the river or a hundred and one other interesting sights from the museums to the Botanical Gardens, not to mention the shopping.
Huntingdon: Once the home of Oliver Cromwell and Samuel Pepys. There is a National Hunt Race course at Brampton.
Ely: A beautiful City with it’s famous Cathedral (floodlit at night), surrounding tea rooms and quaint market (twice a week). A visit to the Cromwell Museum.
St. Ives: An historic market town on the Great Ouse river famous for it’s 15th Century river-bridge and chapel.
Hilton: A charming little village with a fascinating 17th Century turf maze.
Duxford: The Imperial War Museum’s magnificent collection of aircraft, including Britain’s first Concorde. There are regular flying days and exhibitions of military vehicles.
Madingley: The American Cemetry.
Newmarket: A busy little town with nice shopping and cheap parking, not to mention the home of Flat Racing and Horse Museum with afternoon and evening meetings at numerous times of the year.
